What is Minoxidil?
Minoxidil is a topical medication that was originally developed to treat high blood pressure. In the 1970s, minoxidil was used to treat high blood pressure, which has the effect of dilating blood vessels and improving blood flow.
However, it was observed that some patients who used this medication had thicker hair on their heads. This prompted scientists to begin to focus on the "hair growth-promoting" effect of minoxidil and study it as a treatment for thinning hair.
